What does Healthy Relationship means?
Indeed relationship is very complex, it could mean a lot and
you will only then know its real meaning and value it when you get to know how
your relationship works. As I have mentioned on my previous chapter,
relationship comes in different faces. The most intriguing part is to know what
a healthy relationships. There may be some questions that will arise as we move
on like:
What is a healthy relationship?
What are the factors that can influence a healthy
relationship?
How would I know if I am in a healthy relationship?
How to maintain a healthy relationship with my partner?
These are the possible questions that will surely build up
in your minds later on as we talk much more of what and how healthy
relationship works. Anyway, as we have
discussed relationship between emotionally inclined individual comes out to be
'a connection of two people who are having a romantic affair and are both
emotionally in love, attached and committed' but of course, that is just the
beginning of what a relationship really is, we still have to learn a lot and we
will start talking about a healthy relationship as promised.
But what is a healthy relationship? Does anyone really knows
the real scope of what a healthy relationship is? No one knows the real score
but we are all entitled with our own opinion and thoughts. And on my part, I do
have some thoughts to share with you guys.
To describe a healthy relationship is to simply have a happy
long lasting relationship and less stress together, guided with love and
respect with one another. In order to achieve such, you must have the different
factors involved in your relationship. Not only involved in your everyday
living but as long as you both are together.
A healthy relationship must haves:
Love: To love one another is to show how much you care for
them. But not just that, when you love you share what you have and give what
you can have. Did you know that Love is the most essential emotion to maintain
happiness? Even though love is as complex as relationship is but boils down to
one simple thought, 'love is never greedy and will be always a happy and positive
emotion'.
Good Communication: Never let this factor get of your list.
This seems to be very important and needs not to be taken granted just like the
others. Never say 'nothing's wrong' ' I am ok' even you’re not. You have to
figure things out together by asking and talking things over. Speak at your
honesty and never keep the conversation hanging. Always remember that when you
have constant communication comes a great and healthy relationship. Talk about
it and if space is needed, give it for a while.
Trust: One of the most crucial part in a relationship. When
you have this, you get to give peace not only to yourself and your other half.
That feeling when you can completely give yourself a break from being the
shadow of your other half and let him/her explore things and have some space on
his/her own. But you know what, jealousy is normal, it goes to show you care,
but then again that could be your worst nightmare. Don't overdo you might
regret it. A relationship without trust is never healthy and can break you
both.
Honesty: Why is that so that honesty is the best policy?
Remember when we were still young and we were always reminded of such 'policy'?
Well honesty is the best key to maintain that so called trust mentioned above.
When lies becomes the base of your relationship, you will never be happy
eventually. When you lie it will be very hard to trust again, and there goes
the end of your relationship.
‘Listen’: It's a plus when you are a good listener. In any
way especially in a relationship, you have to listen carefully and be good at
it. Never take this factor for granted. This is one of the top 5 factor since
this is very essential. You have to be very focus on what the other half is
saying, don't jump into conclusions without even listening. Definitely, you will
be able to get away from any misunderstanding.
Time: A time well spent is the most effective way to grow
your relationship in a healthy way. Take some time to relax with you other
half, cherish every moment and give some time for you to talk about things.
It's always to vent out with your other half to know what has gotten to his/her
the past days you were away. Learn to treasure time especially little and
limited ones, you can never tell how time flies so fast.
Forgiveness: When you forgive and forget about the past, you
then accept who he was, who he is and who he can be. With forgiveness comes
acceptance, never let the past hurdle whatever relationship you have right now.
Support: Be your partner’s right hand that he/she needed the
most, not just in times of happiness and success but most especially in each
and every downfall. When you show that you will always be there no matter what,
it goes to show that you can be the shoulder he/she can depend on at all times.
Never let your other half feel alone especially when the world seems to fall
apart.
Equality: Never be bias. Simply let your judgment fair.
Relationship is a give and take process that you both should learn. Not just
the other has to do things, take the effort and responsibility, it should be
both of you. Take your relationship into balance and never into power struggle.
Flexibility: Before quality comes flexibility. You have to
be flexible enough to adapt and understand the other. Learn the ups and down,
the straight and curve paths of your relationship. By then you can only have
the harmony and balance to maintain a healthy relationship.
Now, given all the factors to help you have and maintain a
healthy relationship, do you think you have what it takes to have a good one?
After reading the above, can you then asses that you both are in a healthy
relationship? Well, it may take some time for you to understand and absorb
everything but I tell you, try hard to take these factors seriously and you'll
get there eventually.

opposite. What does Unhealthy Relationship do? Happy reading folks!
